Henna Night

Hello guys,

This is my first post and I really liked this forum especially the wedding section. Anyway I am from Turkey Istanbul and I will going to have a henna party.

We Turkish brides generally wear Kaftan on their henna nights but I really wanna make something different and wear a pakistani dress I think you call that dress Lengha. And I really wanna wear those hair jewellerys.

So can you please help me find the dress. Because I dont know anything about that. Are there any places that I can buy online. How about jewellerys where can I buy them. Pleaseeee help this is so important to me.

Thank you so much in advance

Re: Henna Night

well a lengha is like a top with a skirt style bottom....u can also get "anarkali dresses" which are long dresses..tight fitted at the chest and then the dress flares out 2wards the bottom..or theres always the traditional salwar kameez which u could wear.

my advice would be to visit a shop personally and buy an outfit from there as u can then try it on and see if u like it.

Theres many websites which sell "lenghas" but im not sure if there in Istanbul.

hope u find wot ur looking for and congratulations for ur wedding xx

Thank you so much for your reply. I would like to have bridal kind a lengha. I dont really know are there any shops here in Istanbul.

I hope I will find best dress :)

Re: Henna Night

i doubt u'll run into a boutique with lenghas in istanbul. browse the different threads nd u might be able to find a legit designer who won't rip you off while shopping online.
or u can view the classified section and see that some of the other guppies design very beautiful outfits and theyre work is honest. like sairaji, prototype...and more!

Re: Henna Night

Do you have any colour preferences, merveyy? I don't think flower jewelery can be bought online as the flowers would wilt. Do you want mehndi thaals, matkis and other decor items?

I would like to have a lenhga red pink or gold. And hair jeweleries gold color maybe with green beads. Yes i would love to have those decor items like thalls.

I like these hari jeweleries:

Re: Henna Night

The hair jewelery is called ‘Tikka’ and you can print out pictures and ask your own jeweler to copy them. It can be made in gold but mostly it is just gold plated but that really depends on the bride’s choice and budget.

Check out these for a variety of ‘Tikkas’:

‘Red’ and ‘pink’ are mostly suited for the baraat day and on Henna nights Pakistani brides usually wear ‘green’ or yellow but nowadays many brides are trying to break away from the norm and trying on newer colours.

Do you have a budget regarding the lehnga? If you order online the designer as well as the non-designer ones can cost you more than $1,000. If you know someone locally in Lahore or Karachi, they can get you a lehnga a lot less than that but then you have to rely on their personal choice.

Here is a designer lehnga similar to the one you posted:

You can look at the details and contact the designer here:
