To bypass this security feature of auto-logout after certain time of inactivity, I use Firefox’s Auto-Refresh addon, which automatically refreshes the page at set time interval thereby system does not logs you out.

To upload picture from your computer the particular forum should have image upload feature enabled, and you must have sufficient rights
For editing your signature, click on settings on top right corner, and on left pane under My settings you can find option Edit Signature

There is not, to my knowledge any minimum post count required for uploading pics.
There is a quickie menu on right side of the page (under about me box). Below Science & Technology you have Feature heading. Under this heading you have images uploader.
Once a separate pop-up window opens, you can select the images that you want to upload and click on start uploading button. After the process the page will refresh and you will have the codes of the images. Click the copy button and past it anywhere you want them in your thread.
Make sure the file name doesn’t have any dashes or symbols and that the size isn’t too big

There are some issues with png file but jpg files should get uploaded. Are you uploading from computer or internet? If its internet then you can always right click on the picture, then click on "copy image URL" and then paste the URL in "From URL" tab of "insert image" link. Let me know if it doesnt work but it should
