Helpppp!

My friend’s sister’s husband has taken her daughter abroad without her consent. They are not divorced or separated but there have been arguments and fights.

What should they do? Both are Canadians so if they go to Canada they can be stopped there if she get through to the embassy. However what they have figured out so far is that they took the flight from lahore to dubai, further details are not available yet.

So now the family is in dilemma. If they report the husband thru police it can get ugly as they will charge FIR against him. They don’t want to open all doors of reconciliation.

Any suggestions?

Re: Helpppp!

I'd go to Canadian consulate as she is a Canadian citizen too.

Re: Helpppp!

Yah that will be done in the morning as they figured out late in the day today and the consulate shut down.

Re: Helpppp!

why wait for morning? They have number for emergency services. They have specifically mentioned child abduction and they can work with other governments to track and hold the abductor and child as soon as they can.

After-Hours Emergency Contact
Call collect from any country to +1 (613) 996-8885 to reach the Emergency Watch and Response Centre.

Re: Helpppp!

But wouldnt they need to get in touch with the pakistani embassy?

The above number is for what?

Re: Helpppp!

Number is AFTER HOURS emergency number for Canadian citizen. Citizens who are travelling can use this number when embassy is closed (after hours or weekends)

Dont waste time. If this really is a child abduction case, initial hours are really important.

Re: Helpppp!

How can a father 'abduct' his own daughter?

Re: Helpppp!

Well taking the kid away without the other parent's consent is not any less of a crime then abduction.

Re: Helpppp!

I think the imp things are mentioned above. This was to ask for help not to grill anyone.

Thank you now u may look for entertainment elsewhere.

Re: Helpppp!

Consent letter to take kids out of country is required by US citizens and Recommended for Canadian citizen (by these governments).

So no matter why he took her or if she was sleeping. Thing is that he needed mother's consent letter to take child.

Re: Helpppp!

Thank-you.

Re: Helpppp!

was it a holiday planned before the arguments?

Like if we had a family holiday planned with dad to go pakistan, and the weeks before the trip was supposed to happen , my parents argued and it got pretty bad then regardless of what mum says , dad would take us. I mean it's a lot of money plannign and time involved. Plus kids get away from the fights at home and relax a bit during the holidays. It gives the couple time to relax and think too.

Same scenario if kids meant to go with the mum and the dad refuse to let the kids go after an arguments.

as long as the couple are not in the middle of a divorce/seperation..i dont see why one parent should dictate the other over already planned things.

if it wasnt planned...then the father is stupid.

Re: Helpppp!

Was not planned.

Re: Helpppp!

Any news?

And was it a return ticket

Re: Helpppp!
