Don’t know if this is the right forum or not but i like want to know which phone is better and which one to get out of these:

iPhone OS 3.0
Nokia N97

or this
Incredible Shrinking OS: xpPhone offers desktop power in your pocket | DVICE

or sony ericson w980..

and/or anyother new one from sony ericson???

Hey Teelo, my review of the aforementioned phones:

iPhone OS 3.0

Pros
** - **New features, such as copy and paste text/photos

  • 3G tethering, which allows you to connect your phone to your laptop to use it as a modem for net access
  • landscape keyboard has been added to SMS, mail and notes
  • shake to shuffle feature, which allows you to literally shake the phone to shuffle your music!
  • Third party Application features which adds the possibility of over 1000 new APIs to extend the capabilities of new Applications

Cons
Uhm… i can’t think of any :konfused:

Nokia N97

Pros:

  • Good spec,
  • Massive storage of 32GB of storage (expandable to 48GB),
  • Good connectivity,
  • Decent keyboard,
  • Long battery life.

Cons:

  • Crappy touch interface design,
  • Applications are not optimised well for touch, camera is 5mp but pics come out looking crappy at full crop,
  • Media playback features seem underpowered; the N97 has some good hardware, but can’t quite manage the interface and apps to handle all that power

xpPhone
I don’t know too much about this one…but i’m sceptical having done a quick net search… :hmmm:

Verdict
Not too impressed with the Nokia… the E series or Nokia N85 would bode better than this…i’m sceptical about the xpPhone…i’d go with the iPhone…but hey i’m biased :slight_smile:

Thanks for the help...but like please let me know which one i i.e. a student who is willing to spend her money on a phone leaving all the other things should get which would be worth the money spent considering the fact that i dont have a job :(

in above mentioned phones only ATT offers iPhone so you get can a new connection price, assuming you are a new customer, iPhone 3G you can get for $99 and iPhone 3G S for only $199. Please click here to see the complete line up. Though you can buy unlocked N97 and use with current ATT or any other GSM plan, but it will cost you much as no carrier has it in their line up.

Im buying the Nokia N97 in a few days, got held back because the site I was initially going to purchase was not backed by Nokia’s manufacturer’s warranty for some odd reason, but offered a good price nevertheless. Since its a pricey phone, one option was to buy the square trade warranty but then again, might as well diss out a few bucks more and get the original Nokia warranty.

Iphones just way too ordinary, not to mention the fact that EVERYONE has it. And the camera on the N97 is pretty good (has the carl zeiss lens too), here’s a sample:

p.s. the camcorder on the nokia is almost dvd quality!

^ Did you try Dell, I bought Nokia N82 from Dell when it was launched and also you are confirmed that you will get US version.

I just bought it today, the N97 along with the E75 directly from Nokiausa.com. Spent almost a grand on two cell phones. The E75 is for my dad (fathers day gift) and the mighty N97 for myself, will post my own review if i get time after receiving the gizmo.

Anyone bought nokia's extended warranty for $20? is it worth it?

Yes please give reviews as soon as possible...i need to tell my dad which one i want a friend of mine told me to get Black Berry Storm or Bold...he was like if into technology n wanna be connected to the world thru msn, fb, yahoo messenger, google talk, google maps with gps for only 6/8dollars for unlimited internet. Then go for bb bold or storm...
but i am still like wanting N97 or the Iphone.

Nokia USA has the WORST customer service I have ever seen. So the N97 is on backorder, but the idiots wont even ship the other one unless they get the N97 in stock, and chances are, when the N97 comes back in stock, the E75 will disappear! I am tempted to cancel my order but then again I wont be able to find the N97 in black elsewhere and I really want it.

i got the nokia e75, and the nokia n97 a few days ago, and after 2 days i can say ive never seen a phone like the n97!! amazing phone, it truly is the flagship nokia phone! its expensive but then again quality costs money! And for maroush, the camera is amazing! its got a dual led flash and carl zeiss lens! 5MP! I took pics at a counting crows concert a few days ago and they came out so nice, better than my real sony digicam!

from maps to fb, the n97 is SOO loaded its hard to think of what this phone CANT do!
