Got it early last year.
The keys (on the keyboard) have started comming off
It all started with a small mishap, when my cat jumped on it, while I was working, when I pushed her off, she took away the Down arrow key with her as one of her claws got caught in it.
This started a domino effect, now I have about 10 or 12 keys that have come off. They keys have been assembled on the keypad with a really STUPID design, involving a very fragile plastic ring and a rubber piece. Once it comes off, there is no way you can put it back properly.
I called and checked with DELL customer service. They said it is not covered by warranty anymore, the one year warranty period expired in Feb. this year.
Maybe $300 is bit too much but can’t be less than $200.
You will easily spend 30 bucks shipping it and rest labor, cost of parts.
Take it to local geekshop and see what they say? Look for spare keyboard on ebay or on the net and have it shipped, open up the computer and replace it yourself.

Either you get the parts and install it yourself or get someone else to do it or get dell to do it.

I was about to suggest that too. Or search for a replacement on ebay, i'm sure there are tons of ppl selling knock-offs there, shome chinese crap.
As for the busted keyboard, its designed so that the keys do actually go back on, it just takes stable hands and a little patience.

Why not just get a replacement keyboard (30 day warrantee from Dell) through e-Bay. They come with an instruction manual to help set it up. It’ll prolly cost you around $40 inclusive of shipping and handling.
