Can someone help me tashreeh this:

tu ko mein kartay howay mein ko tu kartay howay
ho gaye manzil ham aaakhir justujo kartay howay
tu say mein tak mein say tu tak uth gaye saray hijaaab
usko khud kay khud ko uskay rubarooo kartay howay

ishq-e-haqeeqi kay matan maiN dekhaa jaye tau iqbal nay jiss Taair-e-laa hooti kaa zik'r kiyaa hay ye ussi Fana Fillah kay muqaam par nihaayat lateef aur ma'arfat kay asha'ar mehsoos hotay haiN..

I too wannaa know the exact context of it since ishq-e-mijaazi kay saiiyaaq-o-sabaaq maiN iss ke tashreeh kam az kam mairay liye naa mumkin lagtee hay kay I can't think outside of the circumference of Ishq-e-haqeeqi...

This is definitely tasawwuf and Fana-fillah. "Fana-fillah" is a technical term from tasawwuf and is a stage in a Sufi's pursuit for being closer to Allah. Interested people can refer to books like Kushf-ul-Mahjoob by Syed Ali Hajveri (Rahmatullah Alaih).

Ghalib said in a similar tone:

Kuch naa tha to Khuda tha
Kuch na hota to Khuda hota
Daboya mujh ko honey nei

Na hota mei to kya hota

Kuch isee kisum kee baat is shair nei bhee kee hei.

A friend wrote the peice.

I was challenged to try to explain it. I'm pretty sure it isnt referring to Haqeeqi shairi.

and i am pretty much convince it being refering to manzil-e-laa hoot... even if the poet did not mean that BUT it surely is the case by just reading it in context of Iqbal's poetry!

plus, if it was in haqeeqi type of context, it would not have the fourth line b/c that fourth line would be plain shirk, no?

There are ahaadeeth that mention that during prayers, a momin must consider that he/she is infront of ALLAH and seeing Him.. if not know that He definitely sees you. Plus in surah Yaseen and many other places including authenticated ahaadeeth the meeting of mominoon with ALLAH is mentioned.. in surah yaseen it is told that ALLAH Raheem will send salaam to momineen…
