Help with wedding time!!! Figuring out logistics

So I’m planning a winter wedding in Islamabad. It will be an outdoor event. I can’t decide if I want a daytime event or night. Main concern is that I want the couple photoshoot around Maghrib time which will be at 5:10. So 4:30-5:15 needs to be couple shoot. Should I do a day time function and couple shoot after the function? Or a night time event following the shoot? Thing is I feel like an outdoor event will be a lot more fun and bright in the day time… Anyone been to a nighttime outdoor event though? Will good lighting (no tent) make the outdoors bright enough? I’m so confused please help!!!

Re: Help with wedding time!!! Figuring out logistics

Ideally I'd like to have baraat entrance and joota chupai and dood pilai before Maghrib. Then at Maghrib time we leave for pics and people pray. Open food and we return sometime during food. But I feel like that's a very off timing. Invite would have people coming at 3:00.

Baraat comes at 3:30
Bride at 3:45
Immediately do joota chupai and dood pilai
That'll end at like 4:20 max hopefully (?)
Leave for pics
Guests mingle and take pics at photo booth (decorated rickshaw)
Maghrib at 5:10 and people pray
Open food at 5:45
Return at 5:30/45
Rest of function

Dinner at 5:45. I think that's too early for dinner!!! Or do you think people will just have an early lunch/brunch that day and be fine with an early dinner?

Re: Help with wedding time!!! Figuring out logistics

Well this outdoor event had amazing lighting:

Can most wedding decorators achieve such lighting? If so I’d be happy doing couple shoot at Maghrib and event right after.

I’m so sorry for the multiple long posts!!! I’m just very confused obviously

Re: Help with wedding time!!! Figuring out logistics

I'd comment on the other things later but just a quick note: 545 is very early for dinner if you plan on having the wedding in Pak. IMO, people there are use to late heavy dinners. Don't think the early brunch part will work unless you inforce it on everyone and I am sure thats quite impossible. Dinners usually start at 8ish and food at weddings is a very important aspect so I wouldn't play around with it too much.

Re: Help with wedding time!!! Figuring out logistics

There are plenty of lighting options avalaibe if you do a night event and can be as bright as you want.

So you either do the whole event in the afternoon and finish by doing the shoot or start by doing the shoot and everything follows thereafter. I wont recommend mixing day and evening.

Re: Help with wedding time!!! Figuring out logistics

I thought most venues per the wedding laws in Pak only give you 1-4 pm max for a day event and 7-10 pm for the night. Are you sure of the timings of your venue??
I had a chance to go and check the venue whilst there was a wedding happening ( night event) at that time and they started wrapping up at sharp 9:45!
Also a night event will be extremely cold for an outdoor wedding. 🤔 That's my opinion.

Re: Help with wedding time!!! Figuring out logistics

Thanks for the input. I think I'll go for a night event and splurge on good lighting. I have not booked a venue yet. Looking for an outdoor wedding. Looking into renting a farmhouse so in that case there's no timing limitation.

Winters in Islamabad this past year weren't that cold. I will be investing in renting plenty of heaters iA
