I have got a wedding coming up in december, I am on a tight budget of £400, I have to buy 3 suits which I am sure I cant get from london within that amount
I cant even trust my family in pakistan to send me stuff because my taste is totally different
Should I go with someone who could replicate the designs I like? Or are there any designers out there who are not so expensive but their work is different from usual galli mohalla designs
It is hard finding outfits within that budget here in uk as the outfits are too overpriced and not good quality. i have sent you a private message with details. sure i can help
Things here are overpriced, I have checked out a few boutiques and nothing I could find within my price range, I loved one outfit there and it was for £325 and I cant tell you how beautiful it was, If I had to get only one then I would certainly bought it
the green colored outfit the girl in the middle is wearing seems to be really in these days, as i’ve seen it in many colors combinations and styles.
does anyone know who the designer is? how much does the designer version cost in dollars or rupees?
how much should a good knock-off cost in dollars or rupees?
there’s a family friend auntie here in SoCal who recently came back from Lahore and has some really nice outfits for sale that she got made from Liberty- including the same exact green one! her asking price is from $250-$300 and she claims that is her cost and she’s not making a profit off of us. she says the jamavar suit kapra alone costs about 3000+ rupees and the suits are from 15000-20000 rupees. since i haven’t been to pakistan for a while and have no clue as to the rates for the cloth, kaam and darzis…is she asking a reasonable price or is she ripping us off?

wow, have you put the price of your outfit down? :D
seriously, i didn't even wear it sahar. she'd made it a really bright emerald green and the kaam was with wooden beads and pearls! and she'd stuck shiny sequins all over the jamavar print. it was hideous! i cannot in good conscience recommend this woman to anyone after seeing that fiasco of an outfit. and to top it off, it was a gift from her, but she wanted me to pay for the shipping!! and made it a point to show me that it was a $250 outfit and reminding me she was gifting it to me. *whatevs. *
Whose this shady So.Cal auntie (I probably know her but yea dude Jamavar does not cost $3K she’s making it up. Everyone takes a profit why would they do it otherwise… in Pk I got really nice clothes for about 10,000 rupies that’s barely 200 that was from boutiques on Zamzama and the Point Mall the mark-up for stuff going to the west is ridiculous and the fact that they charge the same in pounds in insane!
Jamvar starts from Rs300 per yard and up so depends which type she bought. The Rs 300 one is not the higest quality. So for a 5 yard shalwar kameez you would spend Rs1500 at least.
However, I do not agree with that lady that she has not profit from the sale of these outfits. Why else would she do it then?
Thats alot of money for only three outfits...at least here in NY it is anyway. Have you seen the thread about the dresses pakifairy is selling? Alot of them are super gorgeous and quite affordable with some change left over considering your budget :)

I really like a few outfits that she has posted in other thread but I am not sure if I should go ahead with the order after reading those Fashionveer and Hajra Hayat stories
