Help with dvd player

Hi. My dvd player is phillips dvp520 and I got this code from the net to make it multi region.

  1. Press system menu on remote control
  2. Go to preference settings
  3. Press 1,3,5,5,6,6
  4. Press 0
  5. Press system menu on remote to exit

I tried it but nothing happens. After I’ve done step 3 on the screen it says “Region 2” and then I do the rest of the steps. But when I put a disc in nothing happens it just says “wrong region”. What can I do?

Install and run "region free" and then put the dvd in.

OK! Here is how it goes:

Multi-region code:
Press Menu, then go to the “Preference Page” on the menu. Enter 135566 to display the hidden region code menu. Select “Region 0” for multi-region. Press Menu to save the settings

Are there two separate menu buttons (menu and system menu)?

Its a software application that runs in the background and you can then play the DVD with your favorite DVD player. Here’s the link to its website:

The lite version is free I believe.

TofiBaba: DVP520 is a stand alone DVD-Player. It is not a DVD-ROM drive. I am not aware if this trick would be applicable in this scenario?
