I’m planning a party for my son who’s turning 3. I was planning on ordering some food from an pakistani restuarant and cooking the rest myself, but can’t decide on a menu. We’re having around 50 adults, 20 kids of varying ages. About a quarter of the guests are vegetarians.
What do you think of this menu:
Veg samosas/spring rolls (bought and fried at home)
Keema patees (home made)
Seekh Kebabs
Chilli paneer (homemade)
Aloo Gobi (or other veg dish)
Rajmah (home made)
Zeera rice
Karhai Chicken
Naan
Salad
Raita
Dessert will be cake.
Re: Help with birthday menu
I would leave out any salan dishes, just ew.. I hate when people serve that on a birthday, I run away.
(FYI I'm anti salan, only had it once. Never again!)
Everything minus that sounds good, maybe add pakoras. Pilau rice?

Re: Help with birthday menu
Yes, cook pulao instead of zeera rice. Vegetarian peeps can eat rice only.
Re: Help with birthday menu
Something fried would be good ...
Re: Help with birthday menu
Come on now. It's jeera rice. Everyone knows that.
Seriously. Why everything has to start with a z? Which is actually the last letter in the alphabet soup that is jeera rasam?
