Whats the Mutter with you?

I think Islamabad suits overseas Pakistanis...Lahore is just the coolest city in Pakistan but there are so many issues and then accommodation would be so expensive if u would live in the more cleaner side of the city...

Karachi has many business opportunities but not my cup of tea..

u really need to travel around before u can decide..dont decide over net plz!

Help! Where to move in Pakistan PART 2

Which city would meet this:

  1. A developed area
  2. Has the following close by that you can get to by foot: a. A Masjid b. Mall/shopping area for food, clothes, electronics.... c. Shooting range or an open field to shoot
  3. Fairly priced area
  4. Able to get DSL or Cable internet
  5. Good hearted people
  6. An enviroment with low amount of bad stuff ( alcohol, open sex....)
  7. Clean area
  8. area where islam is important
  9. The maximum total money in expense I can spend is 28,000 rupees for (rent of flat/house, servant, food internet)
  10. A simple place, I dont want to see big buildings or America....(yes I know areas are becoming more westernized)

========================================

Note: These are things I have heard from people, and what to see how true they are:
1. Lahore is a sinful place, the area is very nice but lots of bad stuff happens there, the people think they are the best of pakistan.

  1. Peshawar is a nice place but its dirty and is about 100 years back.

  2. Islamabad is westernized, nice place, but expensive

========================================

ALSO TO KEEP IN MIND

I have a deep interest and big hobby in firearms and their mechanics...So I say again, a shooting range must be close by or open fields where you can shoot around. (someone mentioned Peshawar for this)

Jazakallahkhair to those who reply, And please only reply if your going to help...

Bang Bang...

First things first. Have you ever been to Pakistan, and if so what places have you visited? What did you think of them in relation to all your requirements?

The moderators moved it, because they believe it is now more suited for this forum. Don't worry if others think that this is important, then they will reply here as well and give you some good suggestions. In the meantime read through the many informative threads about Pakistan in this forum, and then tell us what you think. :)

i suggest that u go to pak for a month or so, see if u can adjust there or like it there and then make the decision of moving their permenently. even 100 replies wudnt help u out here. it really depends on ur ability to adjust. some can handle it, others cannot.

from you post I gather

1: You never been to Pakistan
2: You don't know Urdu Properly!
3: Aparently, you also have not any close relatives in Pakistan
4: You are still a teenager, I guess

why on Earth you beleive that you can settle here easily!!! Liveing in Pakistan, finacialy, is not a big deal... around RS 20000? month is enough for an idividual in any part of country even in Islamabad, you will find Masjid in every area, so its not a big deal.. The real problem for any one like you, with no roots in Pakistan, is lawlessness!! Do you really think you can cope with all those thugs!! some times even in uniform....
as far as finding job or starting business is concern, you will find many ppl there who will claim that they can arrange that for you.... but come on be reasonable here, you know nothing about the country, even nothing about the cities, you ask for basketball courts in city area (as its not a popular game in Pakistan, so you might few dozen in whole country!!), how on earth you can deal with all that corrupt market!! I can say that come here i will help yu out, but in reality, I can make an ass of you as you know nothing... not even the current currency conversion rate!!!
My sugession if you have some blood relatives in pakistan, visit them for a month and see if you can deal with, try to live independently even with living with them, I hope they will understand your grounds and can help you out from any nasty situation.

I think that is an excellent suggestion.

Haroon, I think you should take some guided tours of Pakistan to begin with - there may even be an all Pakistan tour available? Also, spend some time in the place where your parents or family are from, to get more acquainted with your roots as such.

28,000 per month is OK for a not so expensive locality in any Pakistani city. The shooting range might be a bit of a problem though.

im able to adjust, ive experienced a similar situation, and I dont have time or money to take a tour of pakistan.

Alqaida is sending you to pakistan ? tell tell :hoonh:

j/k

Dont take offense, when someone is saying you to not to go to pakistan. Because you will get shock after shocks, cultural and otherwise in pakistan. So be mentally prepared. I repeat Pakistan is not an easy country to live in so be mentally strong to absorb these shocks

If you decide to go to pakistan then Islamabad is best for you for first five years, then you can move to any city of pakistan.you may already know why everyone is suggesting islamabad.

Cost of living is cheaper in Pakistan. You can live in a posh locality rent a bungalow with cook and afford a small car, if you earn $1000 per month(you can save some too)

Why Pakistan ????

are you a pakistani national ?

I am not saying that pakistan is a bad country to live in. Not at all.

I lived all my life here, my family got robbed at gun point, lost count-less money in fraud by companies and individuals. Live in constant uncertainity. As no one is safe. Law and order is worst.

But never thought of leaving Pakistan. Not becuase that I love pakistan and bla bla...
Just becuse my family is here my friends relatives are here. It is very hard for me to leave them and live alone. The second reason is that I am 1st class citizen here. The fact that Pakistan has best scenic beauty in the world. The shame that i have not seen even the 10 % yet.

The people of pakistan have adjusted themselves for this environment.
Any person, who does not know the local language and never been there, life will be extreemly tough.

Be prepared for the following:

*1. Being suspected for member of terrorist organization( No kidding, plan and hard fact ) *
2. Robed at gun point.
3. Mistreatment of law enforcement agencies (unless you know someone influential)

The above is not to deject you but to give you an idea what **you can **expect, when in pakisan.

ps. This is just for Mr. haroon. others: dont get scared :)

I know all this ^^

I have pakistani citizenship through dad

What similar situation did you experience, that you think you can easily adjust to living in Pakistan, where you have never been before?
