i live in australia and its winter here.
few days ago i applied vaseline and than lipstick with lip liner. after few hours i started to feel little itchy on my lips and now they are half black and little bit cracked, like damaged.
i have applied the lipstick so many times before but in summer. before this had happened to me many times in winter. i have tried many companies but they all are the same to my lips. i rarely apply lipstick or lip gloss.
ahhh it cud also be a reaction to the wind... as long as ur lips are well moisturized then usually u shud be fine.... I know that feeling of cold on ur lips.. ur lips can become dry and chapped so keeping them moisturised is good...oh well gud luk x
I have had this problem in the past and its always in the winter time ofcourse. I think its just dryness as it was with me. Just try and go to the pharmacy to get a medicated mositureizer and try that. Do not lick your lips and avoid wearing lip products for a while.
I know this will sound weird but my fiance told me to try this and it actually helped!..Try taking ice cubes and putting them on your lips. Its a little messy but wrap them in a thin tissue so it helps get water into your skin. If the ice cubes really start to melt then just throw it out and take a new one. But the melted ones help too since its all water. Do this as many times as you can for a few days, I hope you will see the same results if it is a bad case of winter dryness. I found the medicated products didn't even help as much as this did.
Sometimes Vaseline make your lips peel even more, as your lips begin to depend on the intense moisture from it. You may also be allergic to the petroleum jelly in the Vaseline. Also try using moisturizing lipstick.
Oh, and u should also exfoliate your lips before moisturizing. There are some available at the drug store, but u can also try brushing your lips with your toothbrush-sounds weird but it works
