So I am having a bit of a dilemma. I am getting married in about 4 weeks (that is not the dilemma lol alhumdulillah) and in my family we have segregated weddings. Doesn"t matter if its female or male, they would be placed on the appropriate side. I am looking for a dj or audio equipment/system rental. Obviously, having a dj would be much more convenient and less stressful. The only catch is that I am not playing typical music at the wedding and instead, nasheeds, naats and songs without instruments will be played. I can accumulate an ipod playlist for this and just need a dj for the audio equipment and to manage the playlist during the event OR can rent and get setup of audio equipment and have my brother or another family friend manage it. The playlist can just play as is…the only time i really need it to be managed is for my entrance in which i would like this song to be played Benammi - A Promise (no music) - YouTube (the translation of the lyrics are really sweet in the description box)
Now my question is,
**1) Do you know of any dj’s who would take on this role for a not so unreasonable amount?
As'Salam O Aelikum Willow, Mashallah Mubarak on your upcoming wedding :) .Please do not go by the my user name. as i brother made this account long back and he never used it and i am his sister who uses this account. i have tried changing the name but no luck. acha to rent equipment you can try long Mcquade. they have location all over GTA and they are very reasonable too. Also if you can rent the equipment i know someone who to help you out for free. He is Newbie in this but know alot of Music Equipments and mixing and everything. He just want exposure that why he is doing things here and there for free. Let me know if you interested. i can ask him. also do try the music rental store.
may i humbly suggest that instead of nasheeds and naats, you should simply have silence and the chatter of your loved ones. :)
if you want, you can have a little sermon before the wedding or during the wedding.
I am saying this because there is a great chance that guests will not even be concentrating on the nasheeds and naats and will be busy doing about their business, which may be disrespectful to the intent of the nasheed/ naat.
I mean no offence. just giving sisterly suggestions.
they will already have speakers or a sound system whereever your wedding is taking place. all you'll need to do is plug in a cd player. talk to the management and ask them what you'll need to bring in.
