help!! shopping for wedding, and moving to states

Hey i need help!!

I am getting married in august or september (most prolly sep)

and my in laws lives in states since ever they have small but not so small social circle there
so my question is how should i go with making my shopping list umm i was thinking

  1. towel sets (one for me one for him) or one set is enough
  2. bedsets and duvet sets + blankets
  3. loads of clothes lol and shoes maybe and yes bags etc

so about clothes i was thinking as there r not gonna b much families etc 5-6 heavy dresses r fine
5-6 semi formal dresses
9-10 casual like ready made shirts and suits from shop like origin, khaadi, etc 3 pc lawn dresses etc
few kurtas waist length and 203 jeans, 2-3 tops , few sweaters, and yes thats about it
what u say
i would really appreciate your advice esp people from there

towel and bedsets are fine. but shoes and bags are much better in US than in pak(From what i have seen). i bought a few pairs of shoes from pakistan, the really fancy ones but they broke very soon and all the crystal/rhinestone came off, and i had to throw them out.
as far as desi clothes, it depends on how many dawats and functions you will have here. dont get too many jeans and shirts as you can always get them here as well.

The real problem for you will be the weight limit on luggage. Your husband will carry a few things too but still. I would suggest asking him how much socialization you do there? Seriously, I had to ask for more clothes as i bought only a few heavy joras with me. Get one pair of jeans if you must otherwise, no need. You can buy it from there.

Please dont bring any bedding from Pakistan. The sizes of mattresses are completely different than whats found in US/Canada, and your bedding would be either too big or too small.

Any winter stuff you need, buy it from US. Any western stuff, I would recommend getting it from US as well. Unless you like wearing kurtis, which you should get stitched from Pakistan. However, be aware that unless you're in a heavily predominantly desi area, your kurtis might stand out because they would be stitched based on what's in Pakistan.

I kinda agree that the towels that you get from Pakistan are amazing, but why would you get those right now? I'm sure your husband can provide at least 1 towel, and you can get any more you need from US. It would be a good idea for you to go out and see what's available in US instead of relying on things from Pakistan. Get that stuff on your trip back from Pakistan.
