Help Please

I need one software to run on Resolution 640x480, but at my Windows XP the lowest resolution is 800x600.
on this Resolution the software starts but suddenly closes.

Please Help me in adjusting the problem , how can I have 640x480 Resolution on Windows XP.

Re: Help Please

Right click on desktop and go to Properties then click on Setting tab. See if you can change the resolution there.

Re: Help Please

there only I have option of 800x680 not less than this.

Re: Help Please

What software is that? if its windows based then it should go into a window which is 640x480. If its DOS based it should automatically go to its desired res. and take over the screen.

It is GRE PowerPrep
Software from ETS, USA conducting GRE tests.

Re: Help Please

Its easy, right click the software -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Display Settings -> Tick Run in 640 x 480 screen Resolution. Apply. Done

Let me know if this doesn't works.

Re: Help Please

it does not work this way , my XP does not have this much lower Resolution.
I donot know what to do ?

Re: Help Please

^^ I dont think so its the problem of resolution I think you may be using a pirated version or some bad copy of it... though there are also ways to use a pirated version of these test.

^this should work

The software is not pirated one, they have given in their readme file , to bring your resolution to 640x480 to be able to use this.

and the problem I am still facing is , that MY XP windows donot such lower resolution option.

I know How to change the resolution setting in Display settings but , how to bring this particular one , I donot know.

It is really confusing for me, as all latest programes and Operating systems as well are Backward compatible , but I donot know why this one is not running.

It opens for a while and I can see the main menue but as soon I select any tab it disappears with turning the screen black then restores to the Desktop.
