Help Please

MAC goes grey soon after.. their NW as well as NC range.. Teelo I hope u use a primer to prep u're skin before u apply u're foundation.. it does make a diff!

I am heartbroken that MAC discontinued my FAV lipstick called "Amplified double shot A37" if anyone comes across it please lemme know :(

Re: Help Please

I might go to Mac soon...i will let you know if i find your shade Gina..
Ahh..i use a primer, wash and cleanse before but i don't use a moisturizer (even the oil free ones) because it makes my skin oily really soon and i look like a frying pan and kala and all even before i reach the place :S...i actually stopped using anything i.e. foundation on my face because of this same reason..

Try Ebay for makeup bargains (but beware of fakes), the MAC stuff isn't all that cheap tho as soooo many other people are also after it. On the UK site there are loads of cheap Dior and Elizabeth Arden foundations (sponge on cream compact - a makeup artist favourite) on 'buy it now.'

There are loads of websites that specifically sell heavily discounted makeup and I mean heavily like 60/70/80% off brand name/premium stuff like Lancome/Dior/Elizabeth Arden. I used to use one call Island Cosmetics or Island Trading or something years ago but there are loads of similar sites about.

If u want to spend nothing at all just go upto the premium brand counters in all the department stores and say 'I'm thinking of buying such and such foundation but I want to try it out and see if it suits my skin first' and they will happily give out samples in little bottles. Clinique are especially good at this, they will practically throw stuff at u lol. If u live in a place where there are loads of department stores of course u can end up with a huge amount of makeup. I used to do this when I was a student, often they would offer me up stuff without my even asking :)

Re: Help Please

you know, one makeup product i would definately invest in right after being married is the Dior Airflash. I got my makeup once done for someones wedding and thats what they used. Although, its like $60 dollars i really think its worth it. If your one of those people who have marks left from acne this will cover them PERFECTLY. Its a spray foundation. The lady who did my makeup, sprayed it onto a brush and did my makeup like that. It came out flawless. Its really light, and covers everything!

IF anything just go and ask them to put it on u. Just so u can see how it reacts on you. And how it looks. I would definately recommend good luck with all ur shopping :)

Use a light-reflecting foundation Teelo.. MAC is drying and will make u're skin look dull and tired!

If u're bent on using MAC products.. buy their strobe cream and use it under u're foundation for the light-reflecting effect!

For the eyeshadows buy their 2-3 color duo's/trio's..I really like "Love connection" it goes well with most colors. Shimmermoss is another really pretty blue and Beauty Marked is a very pretty plum!

Re: Help Please

I was thinking of buying the mineralize duos and a few shades which look good in day time as well as night and can be used at events..i.e. i am not into putting matching eyeshadows these days anyways...a contrast..or neutral colors like shimmery beige or shimmery pinks are fine for me..and i have a list i will buy the strobe creme (only because you, Gina recomended it :)). foundation, fix +, and i was thinking of buying the matte gel which helps reduce shine of oily face..what say? and a little bit more..i can add my own money if it exceeds 200...but i want to invest on something which i can use and be satisfied..like look good and fresh and at the same time natural-ish and not all makeupee and cakedup...so if there was a colorless makeup i wouldn't mind buying that honestly, my oily skin makes me look dull and kala and ghee ka dibba :(

Re: Help Please

i think the main reason for the complaint of looking ashy is that girls normally wear shades lighter than their own skin...
remember..if you match your foundation with your skin you WILL get the BEST coverage...and under flash photography your skin WILL look flawless...

but if you opt to go with a shade or two..or three lighter than your own skin...photos will NOT come out flawless....because the lighter foundation will actually make the flaws more prominent .....the flash..combined with the wrong foundation will ruin the pictures...

I hope this makes sense...and eradicates the myths we have for lighter foundations=good photos... :(
