Yes. Usually all arrangements for the nikkah are from the bride's side.

according to islam (as per my knowledge) not a specific party is meant to pay the moulvi. i mean its both girl's and guy's nikkah so both should pay.
i am not sure how its followed in the culture...as the ladies here say its always the girl's side....i have also seen separate moulvis for both parties.

for my wedding, my husbands family got the maulvi and im sure they paid, for my brothers, his inlaws got the maulvi but we paid? confusing eh

umm theres no set rule for this really... in our family its almost always from the guys side mostly because the nikah arrangement/set-up/dinner is almost always done entirely by the girls side and usually at the girl's place so to sort of contribute sum share in the nikah the guys side gets the moulvi....

as per custom the maulvi is from the girl's side and the guy's side pays the fee.

^ I think the responsibility for the whole function lies on the girl's side. As a sign of good will, if the groom's side wants to pay for the imam or whatever, that's great. But the bride's side needs to take the initiative and to find an imam that is satisfactory and appropriate for their function.
Also, in the US many imams only take voluntary donation. They don't charge a specific fee. But as a courtesy, they should be paid something for their time.

In my family the guy's side is responsible to bring an Imam to the nikkah.
In any case just ask your fiance what his family usually does to clear up confusion.
There is no set rule as SGC stated.

Normally He is arranged from Girl’s side. The boy’s side pays for the Nikah Fee and registration cost etc.

On mine the imam was from our local mosque my inlaws paid the fees etc as they were from a different city. Was nice as the molvi who did my nikaah also taught at the madrassah i went to as a child
