Re: help needed...

i think you are talking about a primer right?

Re: help needed...

Use a good moisturizer, works the same. Face primers are overrated.

Re: help needed...

lol, it's primer. And I agree, primers are overrated but some make a difference if you have oily/dry skin. Moisturizers work fine on normal-combo skin. Where are you based? I could give some good recommendations.

Re: help needed...

I have used Smashbox photo finish and Makeupforever but nothing has done anything but i know primers are necessary for smooth application of foundation cus if i dont use that my foundation looks blotchy:( even though i use MAC foundations..

Re: help needed...

yup may b its Primer...lolz.....but is primer the actual name for this product???wats r the estimated rates?

Re: help needed…

Primer is a TYPE of product, like blush, foundation, eyeshadow etc. Primer usually aren’t inexpensive but they can vary by brand. The most popular one by Smashbox is $40-something. Are you based in pakistan? Check this site, they deliver all over Pakistan and have pretty much every brand: http://www.just4girls.pk/catalogsearch/result/?q=primer&order=relevance&dir=desc

Re: help needed…

Do not!
There prices are ridiculous! wow what rip offs they are whoever owns this website. The products are priced at twice or 3 times more the original price here in the US. (i only looked at the makeup products that i am familiar with)

Re: help needed...

I know, the prices are a little crazy, esp for MAC stuff. $20-$30 for a single eyeshadow in some cases.

Re: help needed...

I just looked at the site....Yikes!

Also, what guanrantee is there that these products are genuine? With soooo many fakes out there....I'd be scared to apply something on my face (especially near/on eyes!) that's bought at a site like this. With the fake MU...who knows what chemicals are in there.

Re: help needed...

@ Paheli, I ordered the 40% glycolic peel from MUAC and just got the package today. I have been watching videos and reading online about it and im thinking about trying it at home now.
I have 2 special events this weekend. Do you think its safe to dilute it to maybe 20% and try a really soft peel tonight would it make a difference at all? Is it true that it starts to peel after a few days and not right away? Should i do it or not?

Re: help needed...

The site is 100% legit as far as authentic products are concerned but prices are crazy. If I lived in Pakistan and for sure couldn't get these products from anywhere else, I'd probably pay these prices to get them. The site has an HQ office in KHI where people can pick their stuff up from + they dont charge until shipping so you have time to examine the things before paying.

Re: help needed...

Good to know they're legit.

Well....yes...I guess if I lived overseas and did not have any relatives or friends in the West who could purchase/ship these items to me...then yes, I'd buy it this way. It's just still shocking.

But then again....are "average" women back there buying these (considering the prices)? I'd imagine this upper-middle class are women buying these....don't they usuall take "foreign vacations" or know people overseas (given the social circle). Gah....what do I know. I'm just baffled at the prices!

Re: help needed...

Haha <3
The prices shocked me too, esp. once I converted them. =|

Re: help needed...

Oh nice! I'm glad you got it! I'm doing my 2nd 40% Lactic Peel tomorrow night!

1) No! Don't dilute it or mess with the product in any way. At the end of the day these are chemicals that you (and me!) don't know much about so I strongly recommend again "messing" with it in any way. (at least I wouldn't do it).

2) If you have 2 special events this weekend....personally I'd recommend against doing a peel for the 1st time this weekend. When I did Glycolic (and even now w/ Lactic)....my face never "peeled" but for several days...got extra dry and flaky (make-up doesn't look good on flaky skin...lol). What I tell you about these peels (and what you read/see online) are people's personal experiences. Everyone's skin is different. 1 or 2 days after the peel....your skin might be just fine. OR it could be super dry/flaky/pink. The only way to find out how your skin will react is to actually do the peel.

Also, personally, once I do a peel....at least for 1 or 2 days...I don't wear MU....just sunscreen and moisturizer (allowing my skin to heal without putting too much crap on it!).

If I were in your shoes....I'd hold off on the peel until after the special events. BTW, let us know how it goes when you do it! :)
