Re: Help needed with backing up Outlook email folders and settings

You can backup the the OE folder in your user profile. To get the exact location of that folder go into Tools/Options, Maintenance tab and Store Location button. This would back up all your stored email and folders.

To save the email account settings go into Tools/Accounts, highlight the account and click on the export button and save settings (creates an .iaf file). Then back up that file as well and you should be all set with OE.

To properly clean up ur XP install do a full format of your drive and do a clean install of ur OS.

Well,

You can do it also by Exporting.
In outlook
go to File->Import & Export->
then choose

Export to File->Personal Folder File

click next, check the box "include subfolder"

click next, Set the path for save file & click finish

out look generate a single file for all emails & sub folders. it will take time depending on the quantity of your emails.

^ ya this is the best method but it doesn't save accounts settings (username, password, pop3, smtp etc.)

Re: Help needed with backing up Outlook email folders and settings

yes, If it save username & pass, your all outlook data will be unsecure & any one can use it directly. the user name & password should be noted sepratly because.
