hey there! I joined gupshup recently and have enjoyed looking through the forum and reading through various interesting topics, i have a question which i would really appreciate your help with,
various forum members have suggested to others that if they have a tight budget regarding buying a designer bridal suit which they like, they can alternatively get it copied, now i understand most, think this is not ethical but most will agree some of the prices are outrageous, when it is fairly obvious the same can be made for half the price by most kaarigars in pak, and plus it is not illegal to do so either as no designer can patent or copyright any design (as far as i know). i know there are already lots of threads on where to go to get the designs done. but i dont quite understand about the process, for example do you simply take a picture of the dress to any of kaarigars listed on the other thread? along with what the fabric it should be etc? how will the kaarigars who make the whole dress along with the kaam make it, with just a photo to refer to?
Welcome to the board. You have a valid concern. Copying design is very common these days, good or bad is a different story.
Good karigar can simply look at a picture (average resolution) and copy it exactly. I have seen my suites made and they are on their way from Pakistan. I got them from Buy Pakistani Dresses| Video Shopping. They will show you their collection over Skype live and you can talk to your karigar as well. On webcam my clothes look exactly the same as in picture… lets see how they turn out.
Only problem you might face is to find honest and good karigar. If you have that then you can get them very cheap and exactly the same as in picture.

hey thanks for your help, much appreciated, it really surprises me that the karigars will be able to make an exact (if a bit different) copy, we forget how talented they are too, if they can copy a replicate just from a photo, it is something. thanks tho
