My older brother is getting married masha allah next year around Eid insha allah…the date is not final yet.
i want to wear a gharara for the barat and a sherwani style for walima or any thing which is better
I’m really confused abt the colours and design ..i saw soooooo many designs in pictures and fashion shows i liked a couple but honestly they were out of my budget.
i started saving though for the wedding…as its the first wedding after i got married… my mom and everybody else wants me to wear a bhari kaam wala jora.
The thing is i dont have a huge budget ..my budget is low as i have to pay for the tickets …the wedding is in India and I live in Canada …i really can’t ask my hubs to pay for everything…masha allah i have a daughter too 1 n half yrs old so i have to get nice outfits for her too..she is the only child in the family right now and is totally spoiled
i need some really good suggestion from you all regarding designs and colours…my hubs wants me to wear white but my mom will kill me lol.

You can go for off white with heavy kaam on one of the days, this way both husband and your mom will be happy! Afterall bridals are off white too and have been accepted fromquite some time. The other day you can wear something colorfu, l to have different looks each day and get that newly married look that you have talked about. I love gharars. Do get one made and the shewani collar dress will look lovely in off white!! Are you getting these made beforehand? If so,you can get anyone to copy the designs in Pakistan (like a kaamwala). You don't ahve to have a huge budget. You can go with lighter kaam on the colorful gharra and heavier on the light one to ballance it out (and your budget too).
you can also distribute the kaam around so its not super pricey- like, get a really heavy gala done but keep a simpler border on the dupatta and maybe sprinkle some "booties" all over the rest of the shirt and dupatta.
I dont have anybody in Pakistan to get me stuff :( just one khala but i cant bother her to go around and honestly i dont kow her taste...but i want my gharara and sherwani dress to be from pakistan...i just looooove pakistani clothes... if you guys know any body who can copy a design and is very reliable please please do let me now...and you guys are welcome to post pics here too so that i can decide.
I'm wheatish so i normally dont wear pink for some reason ..i think i look horrible in that colour blush .
i want to avoid feerozi as i have another heavy gharara from my in laws its beautiful it is of pure kamkhab ...i wore it when my cousin got married ...so thats out of question now.
for some reason i always get attracted to the magenta with purple in it...it looks awesome with kaam..but i dont want to get that colour ..as one of my sarcastic cousin once said...ahh ur always in this colour ..see even ppl give you gifts of that colour ...its not my favourite colour though..i love white and black.

Ooh... i think u should definitely wear something heavy...its only one of few times u will get away wiht it since its ur brothers wedding...
what abt for the mehndi? i think u can wear a gharara for the mehndi.. skirt/lengha for the baraat and sherwani or a saree for valima? I have soooo many designs in mind.
I don't know hwo much your budget is, but in pakistan u can definitely get something for a good price range. There are a few women on this forum who design/make clothes who live in pakistan, and for a decent price (i've consulted with all of them recently), if it's an option, you can order from them and have it shipped to an address in India.....
For some reason I really like a black and silver sherwani style outfit.. white and silver or black and silver will look equally nice...
for a gharara i'd suggest you get a longish kurta that goes up to your knees, have the heavy kaam on the gala and sleeves and just a little bit on the daman. And if u can, have a plain shalwar made with it so that you can get double use out of the outfit (as a gharara is hard to wear again).
i love that long kurta idea Sara :)...true i can wear it after too with shalwar or churidar.
m gonna get a gharara with one paycha (dont know what to call that ) in yellow and green for the mehndi. that i can ask my mom to get it done in India ..not a big deal..but for wedding and walima i want outfits from pak :D
i normally wear saris for weddings and other functions...i have like tonnes of em...this time i wanna stay away from em.
Sara can u hook me up with some people for the clothes i would be grateful. and yes shoot those amazing ideas you have i would love it :) hug

Hi I'd like their contacts as well since i don't have anyone in pak either who understands MY choice!!!

Ok I should really clarify, I have spoken to all of them, but i have not ordered from anything from them. so whatever i am telling you is based on emails/Pms back adn forth and that's it, not their service or quality of their work.
