Help! Need good MUA in Baltimore/DC area!

Hello ladies!
I’m excited because this is my first post on Paklinks. I’ve enjoyed reading all your posts in the past and i’m finally a member! woohoo! So i’m getting married in September in Baltimore, MD and need help finding a good makeup artist in that area.
I’ve heard of Sanober but she is not available the weekend i’m getting married.
Any other ideas? I’m new to the area so I don’t know too many people here. I tried MAC but no one has gotten back to me yet. I’m running out of ideas.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Layla

I need to know as well :S who is sanober though?

I heard mac does great makeup, they'll do any look u show them or tell them to do...but then you'll have to do the dupatta urself...which i think is too hard

My best friend had her wedding in Islamabad but reception in Maryland and used https://www.facebook.com/pages/Malias-Makeup-Artistry/210432522315428 for her makeup

Uzma Wali is the one that most of the brides I know are going with these days. She does good work, usually, but she can be moody and come off with an attitude. She also sometimes insists that you book her for photography and video. But she doesn’t always insist on that. My bhabi’s make up was done by her, as well a cousin’s, and a friend’s, and she did a very nice job with the make up each for each of them, each day (not a huge fan of her photography). Uzma Studios

Sanober has been around for a while. I’ve seen several brides done by her and they all looked lovely and fresh. I actually don’t think her site captures her work. Sanober Azam | Licensed Cosmetologist, Mehendi Specialist in Maryland USA

Sannia Malik is newer. She does nice work and is a very sweet person. My bhabi looked very nice for the reception that Sannia did her makeup and hair. Facebook

Thanks Sahar for your recommendations. I wanted to get Sanober but she is not available that weekend. I spoke with Rima of Rimasmakeup.com but she is in Germantown (an hour away) so I wonder if she's worth the drive. I also liked a lady names Abida but shes not available either. I contacted a few american MUA but it's always a hit or miss depending on who you get. Most aren't experienced with weddings. I'm wearing gray so I don't need super bright makeup..just something dramatic like a smoky eye and nude lips. But I don't want to look "plain" either. I'm open to any other suggestions you guys might have!

^ Uzma did nice, soft make up for multiple day receptions, or where the outfit was a lighter color. It's worth contacting her.

Sannia is young, and she will listen to you. Definitely worth a try.

They are both willing to travel, as far as I know. Also, if you go with a non-desi MUA, make sure s/he knows how to pin your dupatta and set any of your jewelry (teeka, jhoomer, etc).

Hi Layla!

You have plenty of good options:
Mehwish Awan - you can pm me for her work - price range is around 400 for THREE days - hasnt had too much experience but works full time at MAC

Uzma - From first hand experience, she's really good - I like the quality of her work but do not go with her photography/videography package - also from first hand experience lol. She will rip you off in that department and her team of "videographers" is actually her family (ie: brother/husband) Price point is about 400 to 500 for ONE day - lately, she's really pushing hard for people to buy the whole package - makeup is free if you buy everything.

Sonia Iqbal - Her recent brides look STUNNING - I dont know her price point.

Rima's - I heard she's got an attitude from friends who've used her for their wedding - not sure about her price range.

hope that helps - PM me if you need their facebook links or such.
