Help! my screen shrunk!!

Ok, so i was messing with the batteries on our lap top…(one is dead and the other one works..) flipped the lap top..put it back upright and suddenly my lap top screen, cursor etc is only showing up in the center for about 8x8 in screen leaving 3 inches around it all in black. The cursor won’t go there, even when i shut down and start up…

What happened?

try this

Right Click on Desktop-->Select Properties-->Go to the Settings Tab-->Choose the screen resolution to 1024 by 768 pixels or 800X600
if u can't change the screen resolution, then reinstall the video card drivers

if that doesn't work, From the SETTINGS TAB, click on advanced-->Monitor Tab and change the screen refresh rates..
