Help me with my iftaar..

Gina.........something with protein or fruit will "fill" you up for a few hours. Try this:

Get a can of chickpeas (no soaking/cooking involved)

Take 1 medium sized potato (throw it in the microwave and hit the baked function and then dice itup)

Finely chop up 1 medium sized tomato

Finely chop up up a small onion.

In a container.......mix some yogurt until it is smooth and add the above ingredients. For seasoning...add some salt/garam masala, chilli powder. And top it off with some imli ki chatni that you can even buy in a jar from your local grocery store. You're basically making a yogurt chaat. It takes little prep time and it will store for a long time. You can make this one day for iftar......and it will last you a few days. And it's healthy (protein, vitamin C, fiber, etc).

Other options:

potato cutlets......make several.....and then just fry when you need them

Frozen pizzas/pasta dishes? (just heat it and take it with you. Or heat at the hospital if possible)
**
Soup?** It could be a creamy but hearty vegetable soup. You can make your own. Or buy the pre-made variety from the grocery store.
**
how about a salad?** You can add kidney beans/diced potatoes/diced egg to make it more filling. You can add pasta to give it texture.....and your favorite dressing. My mom makes a salad lunch for my bro when he goes to work. She just chops up the veggies and boils the pasta the night before and puts them in containers......and the following morning all she has to do is mix everything up.

sandwiches, as you mentioned
**
fruit chaat**
**
Vegetable stir fry*? **Vegatable rice/pasta*?

Potato skins?
**
Fresh bread from the bakery with hummus**? Add veggies and falafel to it and you'll have yourself a filling sandwich.

bagels with cream cheese....top with veggies

Check the frozen food section and you can stock up on precooked meals that only require heating (frozen pastas, fries, vegetable stir-fries, etc)
