I have only three months left for my wedding…i have nothing in my mind…what to do or not…and the time is passing so fastly that i m afraid what will be my wedding like
progress is like…i have booked a nice hall…prepared the guest list…the jaheiz list…that’s it…nothing else…
i’m worrying most abt the parlour thing…i have never done anything like going parlour or being fashionable..so i don’t know what i should do with myself…i even don’t want to go to a parlor..i believe either they make u a bhootni or else change u completly…i appreciate myself as i am…
i m totally lost…seeking guidance…plzzzzzz help me out…
Not all parlours turn brides into bhootnis. If you live in USA/UK you can even go for trials and see how would it look in the end. You can even consider gora makeup artists who are known for very light makeup.
Parlours in big cities in Pakistan are not bad either.
hey moonlight, dnt worry man!im gettn marrued in 3 months time InshAllah, and so far just have the venues and catering sorted out..n ab sab ghar walay chill kr rahay hain as if there is nothing left to do !!
make a list of jobs...thats wat i have done..
u only worried about ur make-up??im worried about all my shopping,vidoe/photographer/cake and all sorts :)..and come on u have 3 months, just check out a few parlours, and book one of them..if u have any pics u like, take them with u and tell them wat u want..
Where do you live? That would help us give you ideas. If you are worried about makeup, why dont you set up a trial make up session? If you are getting photography done, def set that up before hand. How about the menu? Does your hall come with decorations or do you have to do it seperately? If you have to do it, start looking around asap for ppl to do it. Def make a budget! How about your wedding clothes and the mehndi event? Songs? Get family involved to help you and offer you ideas! Best of Luck!!!
hall is perfectly alright with all their own arangements...no tensions from that side...
catering i guess in last month will do...
mayoon is at home..that is again no problem...thanks to GS :) i have already searched a lot...i have gone through more than 50 pages of this section in past 2 months...
mehendi is at hall...arrangments will be done from his side...this has been already sorted out too through GS ideas...
i have made the list already...with the tentaive program...so what have to be done when...
wedding dresses will be from his side...and he will do his shopping himself...we will bear that expense...
i have just gotten 5 6 dresses uptill now...i will take very few with me...around 25 or so...as i hate shopping...but will love too much doing with him...ofcourse after wards...
i have bought yellow chiffon for mayoon...if anyone may tell me how an anarkali is stitched...
and for the make up... i guess it would be better for me...if i m helped by my dear friends...they are not professional...but good at makeup...this will give a personal touch too..so if i want it to be that way...what checklist i have to make...i usually keep myself simple...so i guess less will be more...
well friends...after seeing ur replies i think i m already very comfortable with all things being happened...i guess it was some sort of depression which laid me to feel like everything will be just impossible for me...actually i m the eldest n all my siblings are and will be busy for their papers since march to june...1 exam has just finished...other is lined up...so as i wont be getting my sisters help...i was feeling so depressed...
kindly tell me about the make up stuff...or i should go to the fashion n beauty section??
also what is the differnece between party make up engagment makeup...and bridal...
and for the guys, are the gher wali shilwars still in fashion??
Moon light. .what you do is.. go to a good parlor and do not tell them you are getting married... ask for Party Makeup :) Seriously... they won't give you the bhootni look .. they only do that with bridal makeup... and they will charge you much much less than what they do for bridal makeup :)
but the downside is, you will have to pinup the dupatta yourself.
that was what i was thinking abt to do...that's why i m asking about the diffrences in the said make ups...and asking abt the before hand preparations...if u could plz list some...i'll be higly higly grateful....
I think it is pretty easy to plan a wedding in Karachi. Also, the parents do the major part of the planning so you really don’t have to worry.
As for catering you can’t go wrong with Hanif Rajput. They are pricey but the food is good.
You don’t have to stitch your Anarkali yourself. Tell the tailor about the style and he’ll know what to do. Browse this thread for ideas:
There are loads of talented MUAs in Karachi. Why don’t you have a look around and browse their portfolios even if you don’t want to hire any. That will give you ideas and maybe you’ll find one who is suitable. Parlours have groom packages now, too.
BTW, have you booked your mehndi artist? Browse these:
Oh, please don’t feel depressed that your sisters might not be able to participate more but let me assure you that they would love to throw away their exams and pamper you to bits. And, you still have us to help you out and make the tension go away.
The difference between party, engagement and bridal makeup is the heaviness (base) and contouring. Bridal makeup being the heaviest also includes false lashes, nails, dupatta setting and anything else that can make the dulhaan stand out. Dupatta setting and an elaborate updo that can hold the heavy dupatta is not included in Party makeup. I think you’ll be fine if you book engagement or nikkah makeup instead if you don’t want a very heavy look.
MUA Bina Khan is known for natural makeup. Look here to get an idea:
