dear ladies, can u please give me some suggestion regarding redesigning my wedding gharara…
my gharara is like this: http://www.dressrepublic.com/store/catalog/women/dr2380.jpg
but i don’t want to wear it as it is on my SIL’s wedding…i want to convert it into some long shirt..this is what i have planned:
can anyone tell me if i can convert my gharara into a shirt like this?
Re: help me in redesigning my wedding gharara plz..
cute ainee, if you had a lehnga it could be converted into a frock, but gharara is a tough one! You might be able to get it done but you cant get a back-trail since your gharara already has straight borders on the bottom. If you can get your tailor to undo the bottom parts of both the legs, take out the separation, and stitch them into one piece, then you can add it to the bottom of your shirt. I hope Im making it clear…it would look something like this: but with a shorter top and longer bottom
I would suggest a different design. This kind:
You get the two leg portions made into one, then keep the top of your shirt as it is till the arm-hole length, add a new fabric (something like jamawar/banarsi would be good) till knee length, and add the gathered gharara fabric on the bottom where the silver portion is in the picture.

Oh I just got a much better idea! Wear the sharara as it is and get a new shirt made with it. A plain chiffon shirt like this one would look great plus lighten the amount of work you will be wearing!
