Well hurrah my husbands also from peshawar and i was recently married there. i wore whatever i wished, my mehndi dress was yellow, green nmixed with shocking pink....barat was typcial red, and walima was peach.
its pretty much standard format you dont need to worry about what area in pak your getting married in. just wear what you like.

I would suggest you to go to Deplix salon in Peshawar. In Pakistan there's a huge emphasis on bridal make up and the same salon that does your hair will also do your make up and help you with yourjewelry and dupptaa setting (scarf overthe hair that all brides wear, its not a hijab). You can't even see most of the hair anyways. She will also set your tika (jewelry on front of the forehead that99% brides wear).
I would suggest you go for a contempraory look. A lehnga (long skirt with a shirt) would look very nice. If you are light complexioned with blonde hair you would look great in beige, offwhite colors basically light colors. Darker complexions with dark hair can pull off darker colors. Go with light jewelry designs. A whole set is worn which consists of a necklace, earings, ring and may have a matching tikka. Bangles can bepart ofthe set or bought separatly. Most brides wear more than one ring. Exchange of a weddingring is not part of the Pakistani culture usually. I would suggest more of a "diamond " look for the jewelry rather than gold.It need not to real.
Overkill spoils the look especially if you are going for something terribly ethnic.

hey, so my cousin wrote back to me, this is what she said:
"well to answer ur question the only good parlour in peshawar is Depilex and she shud have her makeup done by Shahana or Seemi both work there as makeup supervisors, they have their own studio where they take pix..,regardin the stage decor well that depends wehre is the function as some weddin halls wont allow outsiders to decorate but some do.."
also about photographers and videographers, she said that most halls have their own people who they book and wont let you bring in outsiders.
My cousin said that once your venue is booked, to let me know which one it is, and she will be able to recommened which photographer/videographer of theirs is really good.

Not sure about the studio, but I am leaning towards Depilex's own studio. I am not sure though if they will also take pictures at the actual wedding as well. If your brial set has been selected by your in laws, can you see it or see a pic of it to see what colors / styles of clothes would look good with it?

mehendi will be at home garden of my in-laws but for wedding...dont know which hotel...
why photograpger r not allowed???? its an ART doesnt relate to hotel! how ill be sure hotel photographer is artistic enough & i feel its unfair may i like someone's else art also how it will be they will give me a list of studios that they r working with them or just give cam to someone to take photos...

for make up im thinking deplix as my sis in law & my BIN's wives went there they will book them...& i dont mind if they have good studio to take studio pics in their...but where can i see their shot????
i have seen my sis in law's shot im thinking she is deplix(not sure i should confirm)...it was good quality but very formal poses...& wasnt so great work just good pictures...i need something updated & uniqe styles & works with light in pics to feel live pics...i dont know if i can see their recent work to be sure abt it...as my sis in law's wedding was arround 2 & half year back
