My current digi cam is really crap, it’s a 3.0mp digital zoom camera. I want to buy an optical Zoom Camera for taking high quality pictures. What Optical Zoom should I be looking for?
The kodak also looks really bulky and difficult to carry around..Also I heard somehwere that if you want quality camera, go for brand thatm akes ONLY cameras (like canon or nikon, kodak), not just all elctronics (samsung, sony, casio etc)
If u like the last one , go for it..
From this set Canon is out as its zoom is only 3x (optical) and its 4 mpx.
Kodak is 4 mpx as well but its got 5x zoom, but its 219 g, so a little on the heavy side.
Samsung, although having 3x zoom is only 166 g but has 7 mpx and also has the biggest LCD (2.0")
But then again Samsung (historically) haven't been that hot in producing good optics so it goes back to square one. ;)
If Optical zoom is important for you, then check Olympus C series cams. They are not that pricey either.
For cams with higher optical zoom, you are likely to lose some of the pocketability (you will be carrying the cam in a bag, rather than in your pockets) but the picture results are much better. Any thing over 5 mega pixel is just icing on the cake, and don't let excessive megapixels dictate your choice. LCD size doesn't really matter all that much, in the larger scheme of things.
