Help in buying a humidifier

I’m in search of a humidifier for a bedroom, it has to be quiet. What’s the difference between cool and hot mist? any suggestions or experiences with certain products? Oh, and I don’t want to spend more than $100. TIA

whatever you do make sure that it disinfects and that you clean it so mold does not grow.

hot mist are quieter. get one which you put water in that way you wont be buying all those replacement filters.
