Re: Help, he's being mugged ..
It amazes me as to why people dont feel the necessity to help each other out in difficult times? If we see someone getting hurt , how can we so easily tolerate it and not care about it ...
how difficult is it for two passers by to get together and overpower an assailant? If there are weapons like guns involved I understand this concern to jump in ... but even then I know I wouldnt be able to live guilt free ever , if i saw someone shooting/stabbing a man and I just went past ..
There was a news clip on BBC some time back , a man took his dog for a walk , they didnt realize they stepped on a frozen lake .. the dog fell into the water and the owner panicked , he jumped right after the dog and brought it out safely ..
Later many people thought he did a brave thing, while many others continue to diss him that he did a stupid thing .. his comment : life is valuable, I couldnt see life slip away , be it a dog or a human being .. if I didnt go after it and save it and it had died , I would have died of guilt and cowardice too ..
Perhaps we humans are becoming a bit too materialistic to even consider helping each other ..
