Help: Guppies in Uk

So I am not from uk, please bear with me.

My cousins just finished off A-level and the other one finished GCSE.
Now they know I have no idea, how this works, but they sent me link to the local newspaper with their initials highlighted and all .. but I dont understand their marks or maybe it is just numbers

So help me out ..

Lets say for A-levels its written like this S. Moi 3 (1) .. Whats 3 and whats 1?

For GCSE it says S. Moi 10,5 (10,5) and the other says S. Moi 8,5 (1) ???

I hope u can help

Re: Help: Guppies in Uk

I don't know....you get A*, A, B, C, D, E in GCSE or A-Levels. I don't what these numbers are all about?

Re: Help: Guppies in Uk

Those numbers are indeed written in an odd fashion. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it might be to indicate the number of subjects they took, the number of A-C grades, and/or the number of A or A* grades. Bugger knows though. You should probably ask them to explain it to you. Don't forget to then come and let us know.
