help for vitilago...has anybody had any success?

Has anybody had any success in vitalgo and stoping the progression of it. One of my relatives has this problem. Right there several small spots the size of a dime and 1 the size of a quarter. They are in hidden spots.

Any help or suggestions for good doctor or alternative doctor in the northeast USA region would help.

Yeah that what heard too Muzna. My question was how can you stop the spots growing growing or completely losing pigment? Basically how can stop the progression since there is no cure. It is an auto-immune disease.

I have heard a doctor on a tv show he said if it is a small spot on your body and not all over, you should take a ginger and take it’s juice out and apply on the effected area regularly. He said it will cure it no medication needed… Try this regularly i am hope it will work

I have read many such remedies and have suggested the same to someone but very honestly nothing really helps. These are all short term solutions if the marks are meant to spread they will and eventually they do.

Miracles do happen. A close friend of mine was diagnosed with it a few years back. However, she has regained most of her pigment again Mashallah. She didn’t do anything specific though.

You are right, there’s no cure. The treatment options are there however No single treatment works well in all cases. dermatologists often advocate short steroid therapy on a small patch to arrest it’s growth (Treatment can be upto 3 months - but can’t be used on face). Alternative meds like Tacrolimus can be used esp in face and in children. UV light treatments in some cases improve skin - Narrow Band UVB treatments are often employed by Dermatologists in UK when large areas are affected. Majority however are advised to use skin camouflage creams - in UK the advise service is British association Of skin camouflage ( http://www.skin-camouflage.net/). Good luck
