This is interesting, this guy from Peshawar makes gliders and wanst to develop ultra light choppers. The govt has approved grant and he’s waiting for the dough. This is good.

*"A man known here for manufacturing ultra-light gliders has sought financial assistance from the federal government for producing helicopters.

Qazi Sajjad Ahmad, a resident of Landi Arbab in the suburbs of Peshawar, said he had requested the prime minister’s secretariat to provide him Rs1 million for manufacturing a helicopter.

He said the prime minister’s secretariat had referred the case to the federal ministry of defence production, which had interviewed him in October 2005.

He said that after he qualified the interview, the ministry recommended providing him assistance for the purpose but the PM’s secretariat had yet to release the money.

“The engine of the ultra-light helicopter is available in the market and I have already developed 30 per cent structural material,” Mr Ahmad told Dawn.

He said he had already developed single-seater and two-seater ultra-light aircraft for the Civil Aviation Authority.

He said he had carried out test flights of the aircraft at the Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul, and on the occasion of national games in Peshawar in the 1990s."*

Re: help for making helicopters...

Modern helicopters use turbine engines. It will be amazing (but possible) that you could purchase these type of engines from BARA bazar and lundi kotal (along with other sundary material such as: Paan supaari, AK-47, RPGs, and an occasional stinger).

Re: help for making helicopters...

:D I wonder which market he meant.

Re: help for making helicopters...

He is most probably referring to the global market (i.e: China).

Re: help for making helicopters...

I would like to see Pakistan make attack helicopters

Re: help for making helicopters...

forget attack heleicopters, start off with a helicopter.

You can quite easily but parts for commericial aviation off the shelf.

Re: help for making helicopters…

It seems this is him, but this calls him Qazi Tufail of Peshawar and the above report had called him Qazi Sajjad Ahmed of Peshawar.

Re: help for making helicopters...

Had Dr. A.Q. Khan been given an oppurtuniy (Huqumat ne uske saath kitna zulm kiya), he would have made world-class helicopters too... better than advanced nations like USA and north korea.
