Hi all,
I was wondering if it is possible to find a bridal lehenga within a week. I am going to Karachi and have one week to find the dress. As I don’t want to spend too much, I am worried that I won’t be able to find anything because of this time-limit. :S
I would really appreciate if you guys can let me know whether there are any shops who sell ready-made lehenga.

Well.....since you are going to Karachi, I think yes, it's do-able. I just recently came back from Isalambad and it took about 3 weeks for them to make my dress, which is actually pretty amazing considering it's Islamabad. But Karachi is much faster. So is Lahore I hear. Also, Karachi have a lot of ready-made variety in bridal wear (Islamabad don't) so you might even find something you like off the shelf, or that you could alter only slightly.
It's not impossible.

If that's your plan you should contact shops, and designers NOW, exchange a few emails go over concepts and colors so that when you arrive you can quickly make a choice and go from there. You may want to discuss what your budget is in here and get the other karachi girls to recommend places to check out.

Can't you buy a readymade one and then just have adjustments made to it? Instead of making it from scratch? Plus I've heard it's normally cheaper to buy a readymade one.

Check out Tariq road - PLK, Jabeens and the shops behind jabeens.
PLK made a very heavy formal for me in 4 days I am certain they could for you in one week.
Also there is a shop behind jabeens I cant remember its name which had lots of ready made things ready to be sold with alteration taking less than our or so.

just be carefull when dealing with PLK, my sister got her dress made from them, they showerd her a sample piece, which was V... neck she order same thing with U neck, when she went to pick it up, she endedup paying them first, and then sew the dress, they have made it a V neck, and said thats what she ordered, and wouldnt change it or anything, she did endedup wearing a V neck for her weddiing which she really didnt want tooo,,, and i believe they gave her the same sample piece which they showed her...

Thank you all for your suggestions. I'm less worried now as you guys have given me some hope.
So Tariq road is on my list of places to go. Are there any other places worth checking out?

i purchased my wedding dress in just one day .. i reached khi 2-3days before my shadi so had just one day to find out... but i spent all day out i left at 11am and came back at 11:30 pm :D
i bought mehndi thaals and all the things,khussey for mehendi,shadi jewellery dress sandals all these things i bought in just one day thanks to ALLAH :)

I think It's going to be a hectic week for me as well. I just hope that the situation in Karachi is not too bad at that time.

jabeens was near dolmen mall right? I bought an outfit from rizwan moazzam in dolmen some years ago, they had gorgeous bridals and though they update their facebook with new designs they still have a lot of other beautiful bridals to consider.
Jabeens had really nice stuff as well but I have to say Mohsins on Tariq rd had awesome bridal and formal replicas in house and their own designs were just really nice. If you don’t go upstairs to mohsins but go downstairs throughout that little mall of shops you’ll find lots of places that already have unstitched bridals waiting to be purchased. Some of those can be made within a week. You should definitely walk around and get an idea. Also again I advise you to contact places llike jabeens, rizwan moazzam and mohsins now so that they can email you pics and you can also email them designs and styles that you are looking for. The more you communicate with these places the better chances of getting the bridal dress you want.
