Hi everyone!
I’m applying for a postgraduate course in secondary teaching. I’m applying through the GTTR website, the thing is that not much information is provided on how to enter some bits of information – especially in the qualifications bit. I am currently in my fourth year in a Scottish university, I called up the gttr helpline and the guy there didn’t seem to understand what I was asking him (I don’t blame him, I have a horrible cold and have just about lost my voice)
Basically the question is how I do enter my qualifications on the basis of my degree (I believe its per module) i.e. credit points, or would it be by calculating the percentage of time spent during the degree so far (years 1-3, not including 4)
The problem with the percentage thing is that I had a lot of modules so my percentages ended up being like 3% and 5%.
Hi everyone!
I'm applying for a postgraduate course in secondary teaching. I'm applying through the GTTR website, the thing is that not much information is provided on how to enter some bits of information; especially in the qualifications bit. I am currently in my fourth year in a Scottish university, I called up the gttr helpline and the guy there didn't seem to understand what I was asking him (I don’t blame him, I have a horrible cold and have just about lost my voice)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
hi lala land,
i dont know what gttr's exact demands are i mean how exactly they want the qualifcations to be seen....but as far as i know when it comes to entering the qualifications this is how you would enter
BA (Hons) Art and Design 2.1 (type of degree BA Bsc, course name, mark (as in what final grade/mark you go on your degree)
on the other hand it would be useful if you email them or post the shot/image of the page where it says enter your qualifications just to help me understand it more. :)
I haven't finished my degree yet, I'm still in my fourth yr. They are asking about the time spent on the main degree subjects. All of my subjects were compulsory so I had to type in values like 3% for each of my modules from 1st to 3rd year. I don't want a silly mistake like that to ruin my chances of getting accepted into the course...
It seems like they're just asking for the weighting of each module. Did you study any electives...i.e did you study something like Law AND Criminology? If so, just list each subject as 50%. If not, then each module within your degree can be broken down equally, so when they're all added up, they equal 100%. Also, i would think that listing your final year modules would be pertinent, regardless of whether you've received the grades for them or not; you can still add them in your proportional breakdown.
I think it's best to ask your course tutor for a list of all the modules with their credits/weighting, just to be on the safe side.
