HI all,
my mom was admanant about making my jahez and so she started to make my clothes but my wedding won’t be until March of 2011 (earliest) or June (latest) of 2011. Will the current fashion of the long kameez, satin and lace patti’s and trousers still be in? I haven’t bought any outfits for the shaadi except for mehndi suit which will be an a line kameez, pati and capri’s. Please respond ASAP
It would be hard to say if its still going to be in fashion. What I would suggest is going with a neutral outfit, something that would fit any fashion era, or it could even be a traditional look you can't go wrong with that. :) happy shopping hope all goes well.
Yeah, I am really worried about that. I don't want to wear clothes from my jahez and people are like that was so last year :-(
Re: Help! Current fasion
There's no way the current fashion is still going to be in, a year from now. I keep wondering what they are gonna come up with by next year and can't really think of anything but I highly doubt the existing fashion will last thaaaaaaaaat long.
Re: Help! Current fasion
Pyari you could buy the fabric and keep it. Maybe you could get it stitched nearer to the time? Material from Bareeze, Threads and Motifs, Needles Impressions etc is something that would always be in fashion.
I could buy fabric but since I reside in the U.S. stitching here is horrendous I tell you. So my mom just gets all our clothes made in Pakistan and has them shipped here or someone brings them if their coming from pak. I think I'm going to tell my mom to just make traditional stuff like salwar kameez from now on. I mean I could get the fashion ones altered but their designer clothes and I don't want to mess them up because the stitching here in the US is not that great and they charge and arm and leg. My other hope is that the fashion doesn't change. Remember that fashion with choti kameez and patiyala salwars? that was around for awhile. A girl can certainly hope
Re: Help! Current fasion
I don;t think the traditional "shalwar" will be in for a long time, things like trousres or ijars (wide pants etc) will be in.
Re: Help! Current fasion
I think you shouldn't get too many unstitched clothes either. As the sstitching styles change, so do fabrics, embroidery etc too.
Re: Help! Current fasion
Eastern, do you think I should make like knee length kameez's and trousers or wide leg pants?
