Help! Clothes getting ruined.

Hi everyone! First time poster but been following the forum for quite a number of years and it’s been a great help

I’ve recently bought an outfit at the last minute for my sister in laws wedding which was arranged very quickly. The outfit has arrived from Pakistan and I am in the UK. I love it, however it is the type with zardozi and tilla work on it which sticks to the fabric like the sleeves and ruins it. I’m in a panic because I’ve worn this sort of outfit before and it completely got ruined because it kept sticking to everything. Is there any tip/trick to stop this from happening? I’ve tried googling but can’t seem to find anything.
Any help would be so much appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Help! Clothes getting ruined.

For the zardozi and tilla, you can go through the work and carefully cut the ends of any bits that are unravelling or look like they might catch. A dab of glue that dries clear on the ends will help too. I use GS hypo cement for anything like this. But this isn't the only stuff that catches. The claw setting of sew on crystals are just as bad and nothing you can do about those.

If I'm having anything custom made, I try to minimise using materials which will catch and also take care over the placement i.e. no work on inner sleeves.
