you can use a bedspread but its not very comfortable or practical because of its size.
it's made to fit the bed and hang over to the ground so it may prove to be awkward to use as a covering to sleep under.
I think quilt will take less space to store. I have a small space heater and I keep it in the second bedroom in winter if we have guests staying. They can use it if they think its too cold. I prefer comforters though and you can store them in space bags when not in use.
For summer, I dont know how cool you keep your place, and if quilt will be comfortable enough.
At our place, my husband like to turn the air conditioning to high and I feel very cold at night so I have to use thick comforter to sleep comfortably.
For stores, unless you need to buy immediately, I ll suggest go to a couple of shops and see what the prices are and then see if you can find a coupon or a sale event coming up where you can grab those items.
JCPenney, Bed bath sometimes have nice pieces on sale racks.
What about cotton blankets, something like above? We use them almost all year around and love them. They are loght weight and perfect for summer, easy to wash and easy to store and do not take up much space.I have seen them almost everywhere, and they are not that expensive either. You might be able to find them at walmart too(they have it in the US).
we have marshalls in toronto automne77, i dont know if they have beddings as i have never visited the store. homesense has a nice collection . you can also try sears outlet store at steels in toronto. or look for sales at home outfitters. you can also shop online at Overstock.com: Online Shopping - Bedding, Furniture, Electronics, Jewelry, Clothing & more . out of all these i love the designs at home outfitters, though none can beat the bed in bags i bought from chen one and nishat linen in pakstan.
