Help and advice needed

Was driving to work today. I was on the left lane. The light turned yellow and I was 400 m from the light. I took my foot off the accelerator. I noticed a mobike coming from behind at a “high rate of speed”. To protect the biker, I turned on my hazard light as I continued coasting, applying the brake ever so gently such that the car would continue rolling when it approaches the light turning green.

The mobike came close, the went to the left only turn lane and stopped at the light.

I was still circa 150 m away and continued rolling towards light. The biker kept looking over his shoulder. As I approached, he actually rolled his mobike back and started soeaking, pointing to back of my car.

Re: Help and advice needed

I think he was saying why I turned on the bazard. I rolled my window down to hear him just as light turned green and my car still rolling.

I waved and kept on going, with mission to keep rolling accomplished.

While I was happy to be able to avoid a full stop, part of me wanted the opportunity to explain to the biker I meant no harm. That I do this to prevent the vehicle behind me ACCELERATING towards a light just turned red from barreling into my coasting car. But I didn't get this chance.

How do I make this right. How do I heal the relationship with a fellow motorist.

don't do anything unusual to attract unnecessary attention to your driving.

keep looking for this guy...he may again one day be creeping up on toy from behind. believe me, he'll be happy to notice your improved driving habits. :)
