Well I was at one of my friends place last week and there were 5 of us and they all were very excited that ARY is going to show the upcoming England tour of Pakistan. I shatered all their dreams by explaining that ARY won’t show the matches it will be Dish and get ready to pay 200-250 bucks. They all started saying I am wrong since ARY has been advertising about the series live broadcast.
Well to cut the story short we end up betting that if Dish shows England tour of Pakistan than they will pay for me so I can enjoy India tour of Pakistan but if ARY shows the matches than I will have to pay for them (4 of them) for the next series which ever will be a paid one from Dish.
Now just last night I was told by another friend of mine that I may end up losing cuz the news is that ARY bought the rights AGAIN from Dish to show the matches in N. America. That can’t be true well atleast I think and hope. Can anyone else verify this? I doubt Charlie would let this opportunity go to ARY to rip off th desis plus with N2 crack on the corner Charlie would be damned to ripping off people.
Yar as I have mentioned zillion times that ARY cannot show the matches as long as Dish PPV is showing. Now the interesting point here is if ARY has rebought the rights for the series. I don't know if the news is true or not. Ask your buddy the source of the news. In the mean time I will contact the ARY USA office and will ask them. They are not picking up the phone right now since its sunday.
Dishnetwork site is still showing that they have the rights to telescast the series and it will be on PPV.
Pakistan Cricket on DISH Network Pay-Per-View!
DISH Network is proud to announce that it has acquired the rights to all Pakistani home games in 2005 through 2008.
The first series will be Pakistan vs. England in November.
I haven't followed ARY alot during the last couple of weeks but whatever I have seen, I don't remember seeing the add anymore. Did someone see the add for the series. I know they were playing it frequently last month but I have a feelng that it was something meant to be for non USA viewers and by mistake they were playing it here in USA. So anyone saw the add in the last 2 weeks?

fkhan yeah I haven't seen the add lately. I will check with the source the thing is a friend of mine told me that his friend told me so I will try to catch him to find out whats the proper news.
Bad news, I just talked to the ARY USA office and asked them about the add which they were showing. They told me that most of the time they try to air the adds for the programs which they telecast in that particular region but sometimes ads can be seen even if they are not showing that program in that region like the Pak england cricket add which we saw here in USA. He said that although everytime we try to show cricket here in USA but Dish PPV get the rights most of the time (we know that already) and therefore we can't show cricket. He said that we will try to show cricket in future, but when I told him that Dish PPV will be showing Pakistan home cricket till 2008, and its there on their website, he said that in that case we won't be showing.
In the end he said that if you like hockey there is a zabardast hockey tournament which we will be showng in USA. I never bothered to ask him which tournament:D
fkhan2 thanks for checking it out. I kinda feel bad that ARY is not showing otherwise a lot of desis could have enjoyed it watching on the TV but at the same time am happy I won't lose.
