Helmand on the brink of falling to Taliban

We are talking of a country where the US allegedly defeated Taliban 15 years ago. Not very long ago Taliban took control of kunduz albeit shortly and now Helmand is in danger of falling into their hands. A short while ago as per Taliban they have killed 19 NATO soldiers near bagram airbase, this is the short story of US success story in Afghanistan.

this is what happens when your #1](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=1) ally in the region is your enemy’s #1](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=1) benefactor, and milks you to feed snakes. the west is too naive but sooner or later they’ll catch on.

Re: Helmand on the brink of falling to Taliban

So Pakistan is stronger than the whole NATO combined?

the thing that we see is that where ever the west have interfered, the situation has only deteriorated. How would people in India like if US tries to change regime there? The history shows us what happened in Vietnam, and the Middle East (where there was no Pakistan).

Re: Helmand on the brink of falling to Taliban

Oddly, no mention of any of this in the US news.

Americans and Pakistanis have died and died and died in fighting these animals, and now they're growing back like weeds.

The syrians are right. It's pointless to bomb them, they just keep coming back.

More than ever, we muslims need to do some serious madrassah reform, and take back our kids from joining these groups.

Re: Helmand on the brink of falling to Taliban

They were never fully weeded out in Afghanistan, they just melted into the regional areas while the NATO forces were there.

Re: Helmand on the brink of falling to Taliban

I did see that UK forces (spec ops?) have also been deployed to helmand.

I don't know why US Dept of Agriculture didn't invest in providing drought resistant seeds for wheat, soy etc after DEA / US army would have destroyed all the poppy crops. Millions of dollars of revenue is at stake here.
