when adding a emoticon just click on “go advanced” in the quick reply box, then u’ll get a row of smilies with a sign saying “more” click on it and u can see the whole lsit of smilies 
or you can remember the smiley codes 
rep power is when people like ur post or dnt like it and give you points on it
and an avatar? you can go onto alldost and change it from there…profile…upload ur thing and set it as profile/avatar picture
