hi Aara :). i'm getting married in december as well iA and have been described as a walking wreck :P. everyone keeps telling me- enjoy it while you can, but whats there to enjoy between chosing tea pink vs rosy pink vs bubble gum pink vs every man-made shade of pink AND having to hear everyone and their mom's opinion about it! argh...i'm just counting the days 'til its all over :).

Hey.. Thanks for the replies!

My mehndi and shaadi are in Rawalpindi at the PC, and the walima is in Karachi. I did say stressed right?! ... No dress, No jewellery, No decor, No invitations... actually NO nothing!

Initially it was just meant to be a low key Nikaah with the wedding next year, but last minute plans changed and we are having the wedding in December. Im flying out to pakistan on 1st November, the wedding being 22nd December - so I have 6 weeks to do almost everything.

In terms of the dress, I have a few ideas - alot of which I have found here. I don't want to wear red/maroon, I actually want to wear a pink, which pink Im yet to decide. Although I do like red wedding dresses I personally think that on me make up that compliements pink would looker better, I am not too keen on red/gold eye make up. Although nothing is set in stone I maybe swayed if I see something really nice.

I have moments asking myself why I agreed to a lastminute.com wedding but as they say 'love conquers all' and I'm sure it will all be perfect on day.

heyy congratss... me too getting married in dec. im VERY nervouse hehe...

Re: Hello All

Congrats, dnt get to stressed dnt wori everything will be fine, jus browse round on the net see what u like an get an idea otherwise pk has alot of choice and deco there is loads im sure...

Re: Hello All

Yeah, I think as long as I have some ideas before I go I'll be fine.. But just can't help getting stressed. This is the first wedding in my family and that too in Pakistan. Had the wedding been here in england I guess I would feel more confident. I'm having to rely on my family in Pakistan, which for me is quite difficult.

Nabs and Nafigurl - where are you guys getting married?

Re: Hello All

ahhh “last minute” wedding… kya bataouN :hinna: good luck hun

Re: Hello All

don't stress hon, it'll get you nothing but wrinkles at this point. when you get to karachi and are actually doing things, you'll feel better i'm sure.
make a list of everything you need to do- and i mean, everything- from underwear to jewellery, from makeup to shoes, from cake to decor, from chooriyan to caterers. once you have the list in front of you, you'll feel a lot better- trust me on that one. you'll know exactly what needs to be done and won't feel overwhelmed about things.
why don't you try and sort out the invitations in england? they need to be sent out 2 months in advance typically, don't they? and once thats done, it'll be off your list!

also, do your research beforehand. we have threads here on shopping in lahore and karachi... go through them and you can call designers/event planners and book appointments before you go and cross that off your list.
find pictures of decor you like and make color print outs so you can take them with you and show them to decorators.
figure out your guestlist- this is very important!
think of the favors you want to give (if you're giving favors). ask your rellies in pakistan to find out places where you can get the materials for the favors.
look up hairstyles and makeup that you love- maybe go for a few trials to see what colors suit you- it doesn't have to be expensive- you can book makeovers at department stores, at least here in toronto (prolly the same in london?) plus its fun! :)

theres seriously so much you could do right now that would ease your stress, but easily the number one thing would be making your to-do list!
