I think Saby did MBA from Lums recently. You might want to PM him if he doesn't reply here.

Re: helllllllllllllllllllllllllp needed plz

Well you wont' have to worry for job if you have done MBA from LUMS, but I don't know much about the pay

Re: helllllllllllllllllllllllllp needed plz

^ like sac said, I've been told that an MBA from LUMS in Pakistan is a prestigious qualification to have, and I think you'd be earn a decent starting salary.

I haven't experienced LUMS, but completed my MBA almost four years ago... worked in the industry for a couple of years after that and then joined academia again for more.

There are other GS members here who have their MBAs, and they can give you their opinions as well.

It’s pretty hard to say where an MBA will lead you though… I don’t know how things are done in Pakistan, but in North America, all the good schools only accept applicants who have significant work experience at various levels of management before they apply to business schools for an MBA. The idea is that applicants already know their reasons to pursue an MBA.

Remember that an MBA is a professional degree, and not a pure academic degree. Although you’ll have the opportunity to learn a lot of new business theories and their applications, a major part of the MBA is to develop and reinforce skills that you can use in ANY job. For me, the value of the MBA came from the enhancement in my skills pertaining to analysis, practicality and decisiveness, and I was able to apply these to my own area of specialization, which at the time was Information Technology Management. I had an undergraduate degree in Software Engineering… some years of experience in e-Business… and with an MBA in hand, I was able to progress to a higher level in management and later on to pursue Management Consulting engagements as well for a while.

I’ll let others fill in what I’ve left out.
