Helicopter with humanitarian aid to Pakistan crashed in Azerbaijan

A Russian Ka-32 helicopter that was carrying humanitarian aid from Turkey to Pakistan crashed in Azerbaijan on October 22, Deputy Head of Azerbaijani Azal State Airlines Sabir Ilyasov said. He did not confirm recent reports that the helicopter was a military one, reports Gazeta. According to Ilyasov, there were five people aboard. “I think they all have died,” said Ilyasov. “The helicopter was flying on the route Trabzon (Turkey) – Gyandzha (Azerbaijan) – Ashkhabad (Turkmenistan) and then to Pakistan,” noted the official. He said the helicopter filled up tanks in Gyandzha, took off and in the area of Geychu suddenly crashed. The helicopter crashed at 19:45 local time. As the Azerbaijani ANS TV-channel reported on Saturday, the helicopter crashed not far from a residential area, exploded and burned down. The reason of the crash has not been found yet.
