At times we think certain people get away with anything including murder. Allah never punishes them. They never face any hardships. I used to think that too.
I know someone who being in his 40s used to look up at the sky and shout “Allah main sher hon, mera mukabala kar”.
Aj voh sher khak ban ker reh gayah he
It’s amazing to see how wealth messes certain individuals brains up.
I’m not sure if people will understand the concept of my thread but I would like everyone to share some stories
Re: Height of insanity
Yeah some people live life as if all is just absolutely perfect and nothing can ever go wrong. I look forward to hearing about insane people :)
Re: Height of insanity
Aarzoo,
I wondered the same thing myself. Why is that some people can get away with treating others like dirt and not be held accountable for it. Why is that their lives seem perfect.
But then a friend of mind told me, "Happy people don't treat others in a crappy way." And you know what? She's right. People who are happy on the inside don't feel the need to treat others unjustly. People who are bitter on the inside are the ones who feel the need to bring others down as well.
And you might wonder how can they be so happy when they have all this wealth? Well, as they saying goes, "Money doesn't buy happiness." And it's a cliche saying but there is A LOT of truth to it. Money is a temporary fix. I think there was a recent article that said that people who won the lottery didn't experience any changes in happiness or relationships. Often times, people with money feel that they can buy happiness through material things. And maybe for a little while that designer purse or that luxury car might make them happy for a few minutes ......but then they have to find another way to make themselves happy again.
It is said that if Allah wants to do something good for you......then he'll punish you in this world. Because the punishment for sins in this world is less severe and better for us. But if Allah SERIOUSLY wants to PUNISH YOU.......he'll delay your punishment for the next world.......where it will be FAR MORE SEVERE! So, those people have it coming to them. And Allah says that on the day of judgment.......your wealth won't be able to save you.
And you know what's ironic? Psychologists say that one the best ways to treat depression is to help others.....to give to others who are less fortunate.....to do volunteer work......and this is a foundation for most religions. In fact, I think most people have an innate desire to help others because it frees your soul. And for those who are only concerned about their own well-being as well as making lives miserable for others..........its no wonder that they are bitter on the inside and have to turn to material possessions for a quick-fix.
And you NEVER know how other people are doing in their homes. The grass always appears greener on the other side, but close inspection usually reveals otherwise. You might think that the other person is happy and that may be the false image that the person is trying to project.......but the reality might be different. Their luxurious life might be more emptier than your simple lifestyle. Their wealthy house might be a living hell compared to your smaller one with a family who loves you. It's easier to assume, but assuming is not the same thing as actually knowing.
