Its known as the magic button problem. Imagine if someone put before you a button that would transform the world. Everyone would get everything they wanted in their lives. No more pain and suffering, no rape, no murder. Everyone has their subjective desires met exactly the way they wanted. Only its done by taking your brains out and putting them in vats connected to your neural circuitry, feeding you those experiences. The concept that Matrix took on. Would you press that button?
Most people wouldnt. Its hard to say why, it boils down to it being that the experiences arent real, that the joys and hardships combine to make life valuable.
Compare this with our concept of Jannat. You die, and if you’ve been good, you land in a world where all your desires are met. You live forever, you have status, spirituality, everything you’d want to eat and drink, a healthy sex life, beautiful homes.
You are right about this scienario. There is one way to explore the ways out.
Think about Star Trek The Next Generation. Imagine that your heaven is starship enterprize. Once inside heaven, Imagine you are not an ordinary trooper but commamder of the ship, Baldy and skinny Captain picard. Now let your imagination go out of control
The complete ship is under your control ; including well built, sleek and gorgeous officers and passionate staff.
You decide to go where no one has gone before
You passion compells you to meet the so-called god and goddess at various planets :k:
You are the leader of theology and mariology.
This is heaven my friend … imagine and enjoy the taste whole new world and your destiny.
but its not real! In the star trek world imagine living entirely in the holodeck. would you live there forever if you could choose that idealized world with your current life? i dont think its an easy decision.
you do not get to be picard just by waking up and finding yourself in his skin. Every aspect of his personality is moulded by experience, good and bad. It wouldnt be a terribly interesting show if nothing bad ever happened, if you just went from planet to planet, one nice rainbow filled place to another.
But I guess you can figure its Heaven, Allah can make whatever interests you, and you will be interested in whatever He makes. If it werent for Allah though in this scenario, a benign loving Creator (that skews our thinking, plus I think I want to preserve my spot in Allah's heaven (Hell sounds much worse)), but some robots, who offered you the same deal.. you have a choice.. this life as it is or an idealized sequence of experiences you're guaranteed to find fulfilling and interesting forever, wouldnt you find something wrong with choosing the latter regardless of the circumstances of this current life filled with misery but also triumph over misery?
