Shoiab mansoor deserves sitara-e-imtiaz however about sultana siddiqui I'm not convinced. I think there some (far)more deseving writers than her. also, Hum Tv hasn't done anything path breaking.
:) Lilly dow hazaar dow......it's not as a WRITER or DRAMATIST that Sultana has been awarded PPM...it's on her extraordinary achievements including the introduction of quality channel--that she has been recognized such way!

On your query about HASINA MOIN;
Hasina Moin was primarily a teacher. Way back in 1969-70, she was called to PTV-K by Iftikhar Arif as her repute on short story writing and some plays she wrote for Radio Pakistan-Karachi..had traveled fast. She was requested to write something light and interesting for PTV and she took her chances by coming up with her first ever "EID KA JORRA" which starred Shakeel, Nilofer (Alim) Abbasi, Khalid Nizami & late Ishrat Hashmi. That EID play was a scream! and hit the roof....and thus HASINA MOIN was born. Later came...UNCLE URFI which was like the opposite of Khuda Ki Basti.....and that serial was on every lip then. People would avoid going to marraiges & parties without watching the episode at 8 PM sharp of those B&W days of 1969-70. I distinctly remember that when the last episode of UNCLE URFI was nearing...whenever myself, Mohsin Ali, Jamshed Ansari....were at some restaurant etc., people only had ONE question for us...."WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO "BINA?". Bina's character was played by Shehla Ahmad d/o Doctor N.U.Ahmed, a student of IBA then. She did that role so convincingly...that her character almost became a reality for the viewers. Incidently--I am listed as the only artiste in the history of PTV who has done TWO different character roles in ONE serial..and that is UNCLE URFI as I played a Police officer in first episode and a spoilt young teenager making passes at Uncle Urfi's neice "Azra" in fifth, sixth & 7th episodes. There is a DVD of UNCLE URFI available in market now.
After UNCLE URFI..it was HASINA MOIN everywhere till of-late the COMMERCIALISM gripped the TV serials with every odd & even kind of story..mostly...copies or CHARBAA of English & Indian movies being made. With HASINA...it was originality...in most of her serials and long plays.
It is also on records and I have stated that in my many interviews that I loved working in Hasina's serials--as they had certain kind of flair and belonging. The famous TRIO of PTV-K during 1969-79 was MOHSIN ALI-HASINA MOIN-SHIREEN KHAN...later joined by Shoaib Mansoor. Shireen who got married to Athar Vaqar Azeem..left this world in 1979...after fighting cancer battle for three years. She was closely knit with Hasina and undoubtedly...SHIREEN did tremendous work by producing some amazing plays & serials then. MOHSIN left us few years back. He was a great human being and a classy producer/director.. he trained Shoaib Mansoor from the famous ALPHA BRAVO CHARLIE.

One of the plays of Hasina, directed by Shireen, won an award at JAPAN in a TV festival. It was titled "GURYA" and had Shehla Ahmed, Manzoor Qureshi, Azra Sherwani and yours truly. That was in 1970..right after Uncle Urfi.
