My cousin went to Pakistan to deliver the money collected for aid to relief organizations. Spoke to him today and he told me that its heartening to see how Pakistanis have come forward to help. Trucks after trucks are on highways with goods to affected areas.
Kids in scores are coming to NGOs to donate their pocket money.
Its a good news . I went to Noshehra about two weeks back , and I only saw like 2 truck of Tehrek'a insaaf , 2 of some other NGO , and couple of UNHCR . . . and thats it . But its a good to know that situation has changed and people have started donating more .

Namaan, i dont know how are the things in Nowshera and other cities but my cousin went to Islamabad, and he says lots and lots of trucks are leaving Islamabad to affected areas.
Its good to know and hopefully those trucks are headed in the right direction ( yes i'm a pessimist ) ......i went to Charsaada and near Kabul river bridges and all I saw was a sole Army truck delivering dinner ( i assume) to those camped out on the motorway in tents set up by the UNHCR .***
Aid has been delayed but its good to know that the nation has finally woken up to the reality and is now zealously and generously contributing to helping them***
I read Imran Khan will be leading a carvan of 500 trucks loaded with food n other necessties, to the flood affected areas. Now thats great :k:
My sis has gone to Multan with group of other doctors to give free medical treatment… aah i wish i could be of some help too … but hey i donated some amount to Imran Khan and look he is taking the trucks to those places inshAllah
No doubt, there is a lot of indivdual effort going on, i know of so many families who are hands on involved in collecting food and other sustainable products and driving them over to the people themselves. its truly commendable, one such family and their efforts are evident in the pics below. salam to these heroes! with pakistanis like these, pakistan can overcome anything
it is up to avg citizens.
we see reports of consul generals using nasdaq signboard as their personal glamourshots board
and provincial ministers using govt equipment and forced workers to save the ministers house by diverting flood waters towards a village.
salute to the resiliency of the people to ignore these parasites and do what they can to help their fellow citizens
yes this is the average citizen indeed, the one whose relsilience, courage and generosity does not get published in the new york times or flashes across our screens, only the antics of the 'parasites' you mentioned. we make up our minds very quickly, it takes just one hideous incident to judge the entire populous of the country, the headlines we hear and read every morning about Pakistan are enough to convince us that its a ****hole for sure and we made an excellent decision leaving when we did, a pat on the back, putting the blame squarely on the society at large with a holier than thou attitude and on with our lives.
