If your having trouble breathing then I suggest you see a doctor about it as its very treatable and there are new classes of drugs which are very effective for this. If the normal remedies arent working, then its possible the doctor might prescribe you some proton pump inhibitors.
If your really lazy though and find that this is occasional, and not causing you serious breathing difficulties, then there is an over the counter medication called Famotidine which was actually the main drug used for heart-burn in the past, try it.

Okay, I ate ice cream for the past two nights and had heavy fatty chinese fried rice. No problem breathing and no pain. What gives?
I don't see a concise pattern emerging. Time to take it to a doctor.
